Serious plates designed for the serious lifter

Our new range of Olympic Powerlifting Plates are for serious power-lifters and perfectly complement our Australian-made Power Bars which have developed a cult following over the last 15 years.

Manufactured from durable cast-iron, the primary design goals of these plates are firstly to be as thin as possible, allowing more plates to be loaded up on the bar for PB lifts. This is done by using an all steel plate - no fancy rubber or polyurethane-coating here. Secondly, and just as important, is weight accuracy. Each plate is carefully test weighed and then calibrated to 10g of stated weight through the use of a calibration plug on the back during the manufacturing process. This is time-consuming, however it is essential to ensure that when chasing records, you are actually lifting what you think. Lastly the plates are finished in chrome on the smaller sizes and colour-coded powder-coating on larger sizes. Individual colours for each size, as per IPF specifications, means there's no mistaking how much weight is on the bar.

As with all steel plates, the coating can chip with metal to metal contact. Most feel this adds character, but if you are wanting a plate that stays looking closer to brand new, we suggest you take a look at our bumper or rubber-coated plates.
